Assistive Technology

The Genesis Foundation is proud to provide assistive technologies to many children seen through The Feingold Service at Mass General for Children.

Give a Gift

Assistive technologies are specific devices, software, or equipment that aid individuals with disabilities in performing functions that may otherwise be too difficult for them, such as riding a bike or even speaking. For children with rare diseases and genetic disorders, these medically necessary tools are designed to help them thrive in our modern world, with the primary goal of enhancing their independence, productivity and overall quality of life.

The Genesis Foundation for Children is committed to relieving The Feingold Service families of the financial burden by helping to cover some or all of the cost of these specialized devices.

Assistive Technology includes:

Communication

iPads used as communication devices for non-verbal children.

Wearables

Specialized footwear, corrective lenses, leg braces, and hearing aids.

Mobility

Adaptive electric stroller or bicycle.

Learning devices

Braille computers for low vision students.

Please note, all families who are candidates for funding must be recommended by a physician at Mass General for Children’s Division of Genetics and Metabolism.
