2017 marks a special time for The Genesis Foundation for Children: its 35th anniversary.
To aid young patients with genetic disorders, Dr. Murray Feingold pioneered a new approach to medical care. In 1982, he founded what is now known as The Genesis Foundation for Children so that he and his colleagues could spend more time with their patients and efficiently coordinate visits with multiple specialists. Dr. Feingold improved the quality of life of these children and their families who often had to come to terms with complex medical issues while trying to maintain some sense of normalcy at home and at work. The impact he made was profound.
At the Feingold Center for Children, Dr. Feingold’s vision lives on under the clinical direction and supervision of his one-time apprentice, Dr. Catherine Bearce Nowak. Each year, Dr. Nowak and her team see more than 700 children with complex diseases and conditions. The staff also cares for the whole family.
- We reduce the time parents and siblings spend at the hospital or clinic by scheduling visits with specialists and surgeons on the same day.
- We help parents navigate the complex system of health insurance to minimize their out-of-pocket expenditures.
- We work with our student-patients, parents, and school administrators to ensure that every child receives the support and accommodation she or he needs and deserves.
With kindness and compassion, the Feingold Center will continue to make a difference in the lives of children facing rare and complex medical challenges.
We are asking you to again support The Genesis Foundation for Children, which helps fund the Feingold Center for Children. Help us sustain the magic of the Feingold Center.
